Ethics

At Journal of LA, our credibility is our only product. We enforce strict editorial guidelines to ensure our reporting remains objective, accurate, and free from undue influence.

1. Independence and Conflicts of Interest

Our editorial staff is strictly prohibited from holding direct financial interests (e.g., individual stocks, direct investments) in the companies they cover. Any unavoidable conflicts must be disclosed prominently within the article.

2. Sourcing and Attribution

We rely on on-the-record sources and primary data whenever possible. Anonymous sources are only used when the information is critical to the public interest, cannot be obtained otherwise, and the source's credibility has been rigorously vetted by senior editors. We always state why a source was granted anonymity.

3. Advertising and Sponsored Content

A strict firewall exists between our editorial operations and our advertising sales. Sponsored content, if any, will be clearly and unmistakably labeled as such. Advertisers have no say in our editorial coverage.

4. Corrections

We are committed to accuracy. When we make a factual error, we correct it promptly and append a clear correction note to the article detailing what was changed and when.
